Let’s face it many of us just cannot afford the real deal when it comes to having art in our homes and on our walls. So we get the next best think, art prints. So many of us, such as me love art in our homes so we go looking for what we can afford and there is nothing wrong with that. Art prints are great to give as gifts as well as you can find almost any type of prints imaginable.

Art prints can be drawn on canvas or painted on the canvas. They are usually numbered thus bringing the value up a bit. But mostly you will find them on the subway walls, or even the buses going through your town. They can also be a sketch, a photograph or a painting that has been copied. The list is endless and one can buy anything they desire. Norman Rockwell is a prime example of wonder art prints. My parents had a couple of his paintings and I found them exciting to look at. You can see the depth that each had and not spend a small fortune on them.

You can find art prints everywhere you look, if you just look. They are found in homes, office buildings, dorm rooms at college, kid’s rooms, etc. they seem to express who a person is; any kind or art does that. You can have almost any size of art print; it all depends on what your tastes are and how much room you have. You can find art prints framed or not; from metals, real wood or plastic there is a frame out there just right for your print.

When buying art prints, if one cannot afford the original artist’s work, they should be printed by someone that knows the artists work and can copy it perfectly. This is where the cost is lower, it is not done by the artist themselves, but by an apprentice of some sort. Many people like the poster art prints, ones that are the size of a normal poster. These are made from the same stock as magazines use. Art prints always use a heavier stock so they will withstand years of hanging on a wall. Remember too that art prints are not reproductions of an original painting, but come close to looking like them.

Some will argue that all art prints should be put behind glass, which means that a glass will protect the print itself. Some will say different, but I believe that what the print is made up of, say, pastels or oil paints. I think it depends on the buyer of the art print. It will cost more to have it behind glass, but sometimes it is well worth it. I have a beautiful art print that is done with Indian ink, and that is behind glass. It is a non glare glass, thus keeping it safe from the environment. Whichever you chose, enjoy it, and show it off as it is well worth it.
