AP Art (drawing/painting) concentration?
Well first of all, can someone tell me what a breadth is and what's the difference between a breadth piece and a concentration piece?
Ok, well for my concentration, since I barely know what that is, could I do "American Culture"? I'm very patriotic, and I wanted to do something pop art-ish. So could that be a concentration? Some pics I would do would probably be:
Native Americans
Apple pie
iPods
Broadway
A Donkey and an Elephant
A baseball bat and ball
George Washington
A stack of books like The Grapes of Wrath, Huck Finn, Great Gatsby, Scarlet letter, and some other American classics.
A cowboy
A family sitting together at a dinner table
Also controversial things, such as gay rights
Tell me if these ideas were American Culturey to you, and suggest more! Unless that wouldn't be a good concentration lol.
I'm taking AP Studio Art too (Drawing). My art teacher explained this very well last year:
Concentration is you pieces on a single topic with the theme. These drawings should look unified by a similar media, as well as the theme. Click on some of the links to see examples of concentration portfolios from years back:

Breadth is a collection of random drawings that show your ability to preform well in many different mediums.

Quality is the section that you actually have to send to them so they can see it in real life and look at the quality of your work. These should be your very best works.

Good Luck! School doesn't even start for another 3 months, so I still have no idea for my concentration...
Show Your Love For The West With Southwest Cowboy Art
Art always benefits from striking images and dynamic themes. Southwest cowboy art focuses on a subject that grips the imagination with its feeling of energy, ruggedness, self-sufficiency, and freedom. The American cowboy is one of the world's most distinctive, iconic images. He is normally seen sitting on his horse with a broad-brimmed cowboy hat to shade his eyes and spurred boots to control his mettlesome steed. Hanging from his saddle is a lariat coiled on his saddlebow and his gaze is as if he is looking at the far horizon. Including cowboy art in your home's decor is a sure way to bring the wind of the open range, the quiet companionship of the trail, and the warmth of the evening campfire to your own house as well.
Paintings are one of the most dramatic, immediate ways to conjure up the cowboy scene. There are many excellent artists creating cowboy imagery today. Whether you desire a view of a dusty cattle drive, with busy cowpokes galloping around the margin of the herd swinging their lariats or a rodeo scene with a skilled horseman clinging to the back of a wild bronco or even a quieter image of spurred riders sitting around a campfire, there is an artist ready to supply you with your needs.
To help break up the wide open spaces on your walls, use paintings that express your decorating theme. By alternating them with western accessories such as a set of deer antlers, a pair of replica pistols or something else to bring up the textures of the Old West, the true cowboy theme can be created.
Paintings are not the only medium that you can use to show your interest in the cowboy and bring the southwest into your home. A good centerpiece for any table, mantle or collection cabinet would be a bronze statue of a cowboy. The striking image of the cowboy on his steed is excellent for statuary, whether bronze or porcelain, with the exact choice of medium depending on what your decor color scheme calls for.
Countless other cowboy items also await you, ready to give that rugged finishing touch to your bunkhouse. There are many possibilities for bringing a southwestern room to life such as wrought iron lamps in the shape of a cowboy, limited edition plates, painted hides with cowboy scenes, and even photographs of modern cowboys at work on the ranch. You can even turn items of cowboy gear into art objects through careful selection and placement. The unchanging mood of the west can be created simply by adding a cowboy hat on the wall, or a saddle placed artistically in your living room.
