A magical experience waits for you at the Laohutan Ocean Park
The Laohutan Ocean Park is in the south beach of Dalian overlooking the wild sapphire oceans of China. This park covers an expanse of 1,180,000 square meters over 4,000 meters of coastline. Amongst its statues and green hills are a Coral Hall, Polar Hall, Birdsong Forest, Tiger Sculpture Square and Ma Siji Art Museum.
Spread across an area 15,700 square meters of the Laohutan Ocean Park is the Tiger Sculpture Square. The sculpture of a tiger at the center of the square is by no means of traditional shape and size. Chinese painter and sculptor Han Meilin took two years and nine months to complete this work of art which is the symbol of Laohutan Ocean Park. The sculpture is of 5 tigers in all different sizes and shapes heading eastwards standing 6.5 meters high and 35.5 meters wide. The Tigers Sculpture Square is by the far the most beautiful of all squares in Dalian.
In the Polar Region Marine Animals World is probably one of the best and only exhibits in the world to have that many inhabitants from the polar region. Some animals have never before been seen in China, like the beluga whales, sea otters, sea elephant and duckers. Other marine life like the dolphins, penguins, polar bears also call the Polar Region Marine Animals World home. Daily shows go one with these spectacular animals in the 2,000 seat performance hall of the Aquarium. You can watch the dolphins in acrobatic display or see a beluga whale kiss someone. Experience the freezing atmosphere of the polar environment where it is also possible to touch a polar bear. The Polar Hall allows you to understand marine life while experiencing its magical kingdom.
