The Singing Butler Original Oil Painting
The Singing Butler is an original oil on canvas oil painting which has become the most reproduced oil painting in the United Kingdom from an artist, old and new. The original was a majestic work featuring a charming couple dancing next to their maid whilst under umbrellas.
A female model was used twice in photographic scenes which were used together to create this oil painting as Vettriano went away to create it in his own time. This was Vettriano's normal method and offered a clue to his relative modesty, particularly earlier in his career as he was fighting hard for any sign of success.
